Primitive Rug Hooking
Yes, there IS more to life than just quilting!
(Can't believe I said that !!)
Take a look at some of my other endeavors..
Let me hook a rug for you!
Rug Hooking brings me such joy; creativity lets your happiness shine on others!
This Valentine Penny Heart
ornament (10" x 11") sold for
$30 on eBay. It was so
cute and so hard to part with!
Made another one for my
DH for Valentine's Day!
This "Make-Do" Valentine
Heart was fun to make -- I
wonder which one of my
Valentines will get it this year?
(None! They all sold....)
LEFT - Love the shape of
the pine tree and love crows,
so this rug was born.
Definitely want this one for
myself! Rug measures 14" x
15".
RIGHT - Saltbox houses,
crows and cats are among
my most favorite things, so
why not put them all
together? This one is called
"CAt". Rug measures 11" x 15".
Left - If you look elsewhere on this
website, you will find photos of these 2
sweeties. Peaches (top) and Stanley
(bottom) have allowed us to live with them
for many years now, and us humans are
certainly better off for it. So in their honor,
I immortalized them in wool and it turned
out so much better than I could have
hoped! Rug measures 14" x 15"
(Stanley sleeps on this rug every day
--he must really love it!)

"My Chocolate Bunny", a 2008
Easter tribute, was so aptly named by
Jessica. Bunny was drawn freehand
on the monk's cloth, as are all of my
rugs. The background is a beautiful
teal blue. Rug measures 12" x 13".
"Jug with Flowers" rug, my version of
still-life, measures 12" x 16". It turned out so
much prettier than I first envisioned it. I am
very pleased with how the black background
really highlights the flowers.
All of my hooked rugs are
worked with 1/4" wide
wool strips on Monk's
cloth. I draw out my original
designs freehand and work
primarily with "recycled"
wools. Hooking seems to
be taking away a great deal
of my quilting time, but I
don't seem to mind....
